CIPA announced
the establishment of the PictBridge logo
certification program. The logo certification program will assure
interoperability of consumer digital imaging products displaying the PictBridge mark.
The PictBridge logo mark will provide
assurance to digital imaging consumers the interoperability of their
products. Digital imaging products, displaying the logo, provides
consumer with confidence that products have met rigorous PictBridge logo certification requirements.
When a product successfully passes the test, the manufacturer or vendor is
granted the right to use the PictBridge logo on that product.
Roughly, the following procedures are necessary to develop products
that conform to PictBridge and to use the PictBridge mark/logotype for these products.

*1. Logo certification
test requests an applicant to submit the results of a self-test,
conducted by using aforesaid test tool, to a Logo Certification
Organization. There are two types of test tools: a USB version and a
DSP over IP version.
*2. STEP 1 and STEP 2 can be advanced simultaneously.
*3. For second and later logo certification, STEP 3 and STEP 4 will be
repeated.

STEP 1: Develop products that conform to PictBridge >> Purchase a test tool and conduct a self-test
|
|
1. Advance the development of products that conform to this standard on
the basis of the specifications and other related documents. |

2. Apply for purchase of a logo certification test tool called Test Suite (authorized by CIPA) from "Get CD-KEY" on the website of a Logo Certification Organization that sells a logo certification Test Suite (for both CIPA members and non-members).

3. The Logo Certification Organization sends the applicant a license No. called "CD-KEY," a password, and a Test Suite License Agreement form by e-mail.

 |
4. Fill in the "Test Suite License Agreement" and submit two copies thereof to the Logo Certification Organization (for both CIPA members and non-members).

 |
5. When the two copies of "Test Suite License Agreement" arrive at the agent, a download address will be sent to the applicant by e-mail. The applicant will then be able to download a logo certification test tool.
In addition, one of the copies of the "Test Suite License Agreement" and a bill.
USB Version Test Tool
- WindowsXP ver. JPY500,000 per license (total price including 10% consumption tax: JPY550,000)
will be sent to the applicant.
* Download the tool through a Web address that will be sent by e-mail. CD-KEY and password are necessary.
* If the developed product is a printer, a PCI board is also necessary.

6. Conduct a prescribed self-test on the relevant product by using the test tool and pass the test.
