What is PictBridge?
Changes to the procedures from April 1, 2011
The logo certification test tool sales and pricing systems have been revised on April 1, 2011. In accordance with this revision, some of the procurement procedures regarding logo certification test tools will change from April 1, 2011.
Purpose and gist of changes
■ To improve the availability of logo certification test tools and make it more convenient to purchase logo certification test tools
■ To revise and standardize the prices of logo certification test tools
Main Changes
1.Vendors can now continue to purchase and receive support for logo certification test tools from either one of the following two Logo Certification Organizations: SSCT (System Solution Center Tochigi Inc.) or Allion Japan Inc.
2.Some of the problems with the printer test tool for Windows XP SP2 or later have been fixed.
3.Test tool prices and upgrade fees have been revised and standardized.
4.Vendors can now purchase test tools separately or test tool systems that are installed in computers. Please contact either Logo Certification Organization for further information.
Changes to the procedures from April 1, 2009
The Logo Certification Guidelines has been revised on April 1, 2009. In accordance with this revision, the procedure of the Logo Certification program plans to be changed as of April 1, 2009.

Purpose and gist of changes

■ To improve operating stability in the logo certification program
* No changes have occurred regarding the logo certification test method or the PictBridge logo.
Main Changes
1.The logo certification test tools are possible to be purchased from either of the Logo Certification Organizations.
2.The logo certification test tool and PCI board for WindowsXP SP2 or later are available.
3.The scenario file will be fixed and the file update is not needed.
4.Application under the Logo Certification Guidelines Rev. 2.0 has ended as of 31 March 2009.
Changes to the procedures from April 1, 2008
Main Changes
1.The number of Logo Certification Organizations is increased to two.

Vendors can now choose to apply for logo certification from either of the following two companies. The certification fee and application procedures are the same for both.

4.Partial changes to method of OEM application

In OEM business, an OEM manufacturer can apply the logo certification as proxy of an OEM distributor which receives the logo cartification. The procedures for such applications by ploxy have been changed.

Request from CIPA
In accordance with changes to the logo certification program, the terms of the Trademark Master License Agreement (TMLA) between vendors and CIPA have been revised. Vendors who have concluded the TMLA are requested to follow the new procedures.
