Exif
and DCF |
 |
 |
| Exif
is always used in conjunction with the term
DCF (Design Rule for Camera File Systems).
DCF is a file system standard designed to
ensure compatibility for images using recording
media between such devices as digital cameras
and printers. This standard defines file name
formats and folder structures. Conversely,
Exif is a standard for defining how to store
image data and camera information in files,
and applies to the actual data itself. |
 |
 |
| DCF-compatible
devices allow image files to be easily exchanged,
even between different series of products
or the products of different manufacturers. |
