Below is a list of new or revised guidelines established by CIPA.

Note [Application Policy]
This guideline has been established to help to avoid consumer confusion by unifying the notation method of the items of the digital camera currently used inharmonious in future catalogs, operation manuals, etc.
CIPA will recommend its own members as well as worldwide manufacturers and sellers of digital cameras to employ this guideline.
This guideline is not enforceable but observation of the following rules when presenting the camera specifications in catalogs is advised.
(1) For new products released onto the market after the publication date of this guideline, it is practicable that the relevant articles of this guideline be presented in catalogs and operation manuals, etc.
(2) For all new products released onto the market six months after the publication date of this guideline, the aim is to have the relevant articles of this guideline presented in catalogs and operation manuals, etc.
Provided, however, that this guideline does not apply any restrictions to the products currently being manufactured or sold in the market.
